now it’s time to take a look at the tx-dot traffic cams… new this morning– the french anthem rang out, as france mourned the victims of terrorist attacks in paris. president francois hollande led the ceremony at a complex that houses napoleon’s tomb this morning . people across france are flying national flags in memory of the victims. their families and people who survived the attack were guests at the ceremony. 130-people were killed in terrorist carnage two weeks ago, and more then 350-others were wounded. hollande later pledged to destroy i-s-i-s and he stepped up airstrikes against the group in syria. new mexico state police say that weather is to a blame for a crash in las cruces yesterday morning. centennial high school’s facebook page … shows that coach rogers gray was seriously hurt in a crash that happened yesterday morning just after 7 a.m.. this is a picture posted on facebook last night, asking people to send prayers to the coach and his family. state police have not identified gray as the man taken to u-m-c in el paso in critical condition— but the school reports gray was the passenger in a truck that rolled off the freeway off i-25 early thursday morning. . our new mexico mobile newsroom … … also learned the driver of that truck was cameron berkley, a football player at centennial … and also coach gray’s nephew. we’re told he was not hurt. state police tell us the truck hydroplaned in the rain and went off the highway. the centennial high school students gathered for a prayer service last night. this video was posted on the school’s facebook page with the hash tag–prayers for coach roger. crashes like the one you just heard about a common occurrence here in the borderland. one of the many reasons blood is often in short supply. abc 7 hilary floren reports. 11:26 a person can need up to 100 pints or more of blood and right there, there goes our supply! you never know when it will be there. if anything tragic happens, blood is always need and it can’t be manufactured. it has to be given by another human being. that’s where i come in – to demonstrate just how easy it is to give a pint that could save a life. 6:31 i never look! just feel a little poke. it’s that easy. united blood services is encouraging everyone who can to donate – it only takes about 45 minutes for the entire process, including a health screening and short interview first. 9:37 we need an average of 137 pints a day in our territory and an average of 175. during holidays people are busy. there are colds, opeople can’t donate or bad weather keeps them away so at times that average goes down and we need to collect. ramiro martinez has donated several times, and has started bringing his 17year old son. a great example for men, since wieland says many shy away from donating. 1:54 it doesn’t hurt 2:27 hopefully people can donate blood. it’s for a good cause. there’s a lot of people in need and we never know when we’re gonna need blood. donors must be at least 16 w/ parents permission, 17 without. up to any age, as long as they’re healthy. there are certain conditions that could keep you from donating, like certain diseases or medications. united blood services has offices at 424 south mesa hills and 1338 zaragosa in el paso… and 1200 commerce in las cruces. so this season, give the gift of life. it’s that easy! and it makes you feel good. hillary floren, abc 7. it was a terrifying night for members of one houston family. two sisters were talking to a friend … when their truck was carjacked! they say a man jumped in and took off … with one of the women’s children inside. the children were only one and three years old. the women wasted no time — they got in their friend’s car and took off after the thief. the thief eventually stopped the truck and pushed both children on to the street … but the drama wasn’t over. ” “we grabbed them and he turne around, hit a pole, and came back towards us. and it looked like he had no remorse, like he was gonna try to run us over, so i just got out the way.” the children were not hurt. police found the truck crashed into the building … but there was no sign of the thief. now it’s time to take a look at the tx-dot traffic cams… still much more to come here on good morning el paso — a blimp flying over a the famous macy’s day parade is forced to make an emergency landing –we’ll tell you why coming up. / plus– so many el pasoans braved the wet weather to enjoy the 79th annual sun bowl parade we’ll take a look but first – will be seeing more rain in our forecast for our firday?
