El Paso mom on Disney panel to help families plan vacations

A local mother is putting her Disney knowledge to work on the 2016 Disney Parks Mom Panel to help families plan their vacation.

Sally Bulavko was selected for the panel from thousands of applicants.

The interactive online forum is meant to offer tips on how to make the best of your stay at any Disney park.

Bulavko said her husband’s job moved the family to El Paso last year, she is a mother of two young daughters.

Growing up in Florida, Bulavko said her family took many trips to Walt Disney World and continues the tradition with her own family today.

The panel consists of more than two dozen moms, with the exception of a few fathers, who can answer any questions about Disney parks. One can direct a question to a specific panelist.

Some of the panelists are fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese.

From transportation to where to find breastfeeding stations for mothers, Bulavko said no question is “too silly.”

“I try to add a little bit of extra magic to every answer. I try to give you your answer and then maybe something that’s related to where you’re going,” said Bulavko.

Bulavko said she can also offer ways to save money when planning a Disney vacation.

“Your budget matters to me because I know how much goes into these vacations,” she said.

A 2015 Huffington Post article found that a trip to Disneyland or Disney World could cost $500-$1,000 per person per day for most visitors, including flight, hotel, food expenses and souvenirs. (Click here for the article)

Bulavko said the panel is made up of people who often visit Disney parks and have found ways to cut corners.

“In order to go as often as we do, we’ve all found the tricks to save money and really stretch our vacation dollars.”

Bulavko started her role as a panelist in January and has already helped 50 families with questions about their upcoming vacation.
