What’s next for the Supreme Court after Scalia’s death?

The Supreme Court decides what laws are constitutional or not. The nine justices issue decisions that change the face of the country.
We’re in the middle of an election cycle right now, and it approving a new justice won’t be easy, the process requires cooperation between the executive and legislative branches.
President Obama will have to nominate a replacement, then it’s on to the the senate for approval. The senate is now a majority republican.
A UTEP political science professor told us with the election climate as it is, it’s not likely the senate will approve the president’s nominee.
“I don’t think that this court, or this Congress, this Senate, will consider any nominee put forth.even if they are a true moderate. They are going to want an ideological similar to replace the stalwart conservative that Scalia was.” said Professor Todd Curry.
