Canutillo ISD names principal of Bill Childress Elementary

Canutillo ISD has namedReyna Salcedo as principal of Bill Childress Elementary School.

Salcedo has 28 years of educational experience. She had served as assistant principal of Alderete Middle School since 2014 and assistant principal at Canutillo High School in 2008.

“We are excited to promote one of Canutillo’s best educators to the principalship and have high expectations that Mrs. Salcedo will lead Bill Childress Elementary to new heights,” said Dr. Pedro Galavz, CISD superintendent. “Her extensive teaching and administrative experience, coupled with her commitment to engage with the community, will be invaluable to the Bill Childress and Vinton communities.”

Before she joined Canutillo ISD, she served as a district math instruction coach, interim high school principal, summer school director and math teacher in the Anthony (Texas) Independent School District. Salcedo also served as a Math Teacher at both Clint and Gadsden high schools.
