30,000+ fill the Sun Bowl for “Two Nations, One Faith” celebration

Sun Bowl organizers estimate more than 30,000 people attended the”Two Nations, One Faith” celebration at the Sun Bowl.

The event started at 12 p.m. with Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Tigua Indian Social Dancers, tribal youth performing traditional social dances as people slowly began to stream in. They were followed by the Bowie mariachi band and testimonials from people expressing what God has done for in their lives.

Around 2 p.m. renowned musician Tony Melendez sang and ministered before the crowd, followed by Collin Raye, county music singer.

Father Tony Ricard is a well-known preacher, chaplain for the New Orleans Saints energized the crowds before the mass began.

The event was hosted by ABC-7’s Estela Casas and KTSM’s Don Guevara.
