UTEP beats Louisiana Tech 91-80

Lee Moore scored 26 points with nine assists and Terry Winn matched his career-best with 17 points helping UTEP hold off Louisiana Tech 91-80 on Saturday to win its sixth-straight game.

The Miners (17-11, 8-6 Conference USA) were sharp from the field, making 35 of 59 field goals – just shy of 60-percent shooting – and are unbeaten since losing at Louisiana Tech three weeks ago.

Omega Harris added 15 points. Winn reached 17 on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting night before fouling out, making him 12-for-12 in UTEP’s last two games. He also grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Miners built leads as large as 23 points, and were ahead by 20 with 3:39 to go before Louisiana Tech cut the gap to nine points after an 11-0 run.

Alex Hamilton led the Bulldogs (20-7, 9-5) with 22 points, including seven in the late run.
