No injuries reported after house fire in Lower Valley
No injuries were reported after a home went up in flames in El Paso’s Lower Valley early Wednesday morning.
The home is located near the intersection of Socorro Road and Granillo Street. An El Paso Fire Department Spokesman says 3 men were inside the home when the fire started at around 3:30 this morning. The fire department says the three men got out in time.
ABC-7 is told that Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo police on patrol saw the flames and alerted the residents to get out. The officer called 911. When the El Paso Fire Department arrived, flames were shooting out from the back of the house. The fire was put out just before 4:15 Wednesday morning.
About 25 percent of the home was damaged. Fire investigators are now working to find out how the fire started. Damage is estimated at $30,000. Firefighters say the house had no working smoke alarms.
A total of 9 units and 21 personnel from the El Paso Fire Department responded to this incident. Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, El Paso Police, El Paso Electric, Texas Gas and ATF assisted in the incident.
