Motorcycle Officer involved in crash dies
Officer David Ortiz was hospitalized last week after being hit from behind by a car while he was stopped at a red light on Lee Trevino Drive at Vista Del Sol.
Today, El Paso Police confirmed that he has died as a result of the accident.
Ortiz was with the police department for nine years andwas a traffic officer assigned to the Pebble Hills Regional Command.
The name of the man who hit Officer Ortiz has not yet been released, and the accident is still under investigation.
