El Paso man found guilty of trying to sell spice
An El Paso man has been found guilty in Dona Ana County of distributing the drug spice.
County District Attorney Mark D’Antonio announced Saturday that a jury convicted 26-year-old William Langbehn.
According to the county sheriff’s department, a deputy stopped Langbehn in traffic in October 2015.
The deputy determined Langbehn was driving with a suspended license, which led to the vehicle being towed.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up 174 packets of spice.
The drugs were estimated to be worth $850.
Prosecutors say Langbehn intended to distribute the spice.
Langbehn is being held pending sentencing.
He faces up to 18 months in prison.
D’Antonio says this is the first case involving distribution of spice to be prosecuted by his office.
