Sheriff’s Officials: Man arrested in string of burglaries also allegedly impersonated police officer

Abc-7 is learning new information about the man who was arrested by the U.S Marshals this week.

Eduardo Soliz was arrested for a string of burglaries throughout El Paso.
Our Abc-7 I-team has uncovered documents that reveal alarming new information about the homes he targeted.

Soliz was arrested for burglaries in El Paso and Socorro. He was also arrested for impersonating a police officer in Las Cruces. Court documents detail the burglaries of at least nine homes.

Court documents show in March of last year –he broke into five homes in just three days in the Socorro area. Documents state he stole power tools, TV screens, laptops, jewelry, cell phones and even a woman’s birth certificate.

Sheriff’s officials say in October, Soliz impersonated a police officer. Sheriff’s officials tell Abc-7 a woman was standing in her driveway when she saw Soliz next door, with a gold police badge. She told investigators Soliz asked her if she knew her neighbors then told her to go inside her home and stay there.

Soliz was also wanted by El Paso Police for breaking into at least three homes where he stole watches, TV’s and computers.

“In some cases, not all, typically, criminals that burglarize residences or apartments, they’re observing for signs of people not being home most burglaries occur when the residents aren’t home, “

Soliz is being held under a $282-thousand dollar bond.
