UTEP Soccer spring season kicks off on a positive note
The UTEP spring soccer season kicked off on Sunday, and the Miners couldn’t have impressed any more in their opening game.
UTEP defeated Highlands 7-0, and while it is a good sign for things to come, the team isn’t quite satisfied.
UTEP head soccer coach, Kevin Cross said the team still has a lot to prove heading into the regular season.
“Bottom line is I have a lot to prove, the team has a lot to prove and we will prove it,” Cross said.
But it goes without saying, it is a lengthy process to get to that point of excellence.
“I think we can do it this year and we have a strong recruiting class,” Cross said. “There are some young players still developing this spring. We want to see how they handle it and hopefully it all goes well,” Cross said.
The Miners will play some high-caliber schools throughout spring ball, including UNM, ASU and U of A.
