Eastlake’s run comes to an end in the state semis

soccer team did something this year it’s never done. make the final four. that’s also something no other team from el paso did. could they make it count tonight in their final four matchup with brownsville porter? to georgetown,t exas we go! fear the falcons indeed! no score end of the first…eastlake a great chance to take the lead before the half but the cross just out of reach. no score at half. after the break porter woke up… alexis ansurres fires a screamer that finds the back of the net… 1-0 porter. they would just keep going from there ..up 2-0 it’s ansurres again…gets by the keeper and measures it perfectly…3-0 porter. they’re not done yet. late in the game they go up four nothing courtesy of marco del twan. all porter in the second half. jonathan hernandez of eastlake would add a late p-k ….but the game was virtually over at that point. eastlake falls 4-1. “we battled the first half. second half you know they came out strong and you know once you get down you’ve got to change some things up. and uh it didn’t even work in our favor. and we played a very good team from brownsville porter that did very well today. and we battled all day but they were the better team.” “not everyone gets to s they got to state but we did so just learn from this next year and give everything we got. we were nervous but hell of a run.”
