Grand Jury indicts Sunland Park man on child molestation charges

A grand jury has indicted a Sunland Park man accused of molesting a girl, according to District Attorney Mark D’Antonio’s office.

Ramon Aguirre, 49, is charged with Criminal Sexual Penetration, a first-degree felony. Aguirre was also indicted on two counts of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor, both second-degree felonies.

According to Sunland Park Police, Aguirre allegedly molested the victim on multiple occasions starting when she was in the 2nd grade.

Investigators said the molestation allegedly happened at Aguirre’s home in Sunland Park between January 2012 and October 2014.

If convicted as charged, Aguirre could face up to 48 years in prison.
