El Paso police arrest man wanted in gang-related murder in Northern California

A man wanted in connection with a 2011 gang-related murder in the Bay Area was arrested Monday in West El Paso.

Victor Medeiros, 22, is wanted on suspicion of murder in Union City, Calif., which is near San Francisco.

Detectives with the Union City Police Department learned that Medeiros might be in El Paso and reached out the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit for assistance.

Officers with the gang unit and SWAT team conducted surveillance and spotted Medeiros leaving a West Side apartment complex. He was arrested in the parking of the Albertson’s store at Resler Drive and Mesa Street.

SWAT officer also conducted at warrant search at Medeiro’s unit at Caprock Apartments at 6000 Caprock Ct.

Medeiros was booked in the El Paso County Jail. He will be held without bond until he is extradited to California.
