Doppler Dave Weather Academy: Anthony Elementary
Doppler Dave Speelman visited Anthony Elementary School in Anthony, NM, Monday to talk weather.
About 60 students learned about cloud formation, flash flooding and the type of weather instruments used by meteorologists on a daily basis. They even got a chance to create a small cloud inside a bottle.
Every May and November, KVIA-TV meteorologists and StormTrackers take applications from area schools. The goal of our ABC-7 Weather Academy is to educate kids about weather patterns.
Numerous experiments are performed to help the students better understand how our weather patterns behave.
