Chihuahuas hit four homers en route to 7-6 win over New Orleans
EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Chihuahuas tied a team record by hitting four home runs in their 7-6 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs Monday night at Southwest University Park. Alex Dickerson went 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs, Hunter Renfroe went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs, while Diego Goris also went deep, his third longball of the season.
Renfroe has blasted home runs in back-to-back games. Dickerson is in the midst of a 15-game hitting streak, the longest in Chihuahuas’ team history. Jeremy Guthrie got the win for the second straight start, pitching five innings and allowing four earned runs.
Monday’s game featured a lot of runs early, as there were three lead changes and 11 combined runs in the first four innings. Relievers Frank Garces and Eric Yardley held the Zephyrs late, with Yardley picking up his first Triple-A save.
The Chihuahuas have collected nine hits or more in every game since April 30.
