Former President Bill Clinton campaigns for Hillary in Las Cruces

Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for his wife, Democratic Presidential Hopeful Hillary Clinton, in Las Cruces ahead of the June 7 primary in New Mexico.

Bill Clinton addressed a crowd of more than 800 people at Picacho Middle School.

The former president told the pro-Hillary crowd there are three big reasons his wife should be president: she has the right values, the country needs to be rebuilt using an inclusive approach, and she wants to build bridges, not walls.

Clinton took a swipe at Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump and his promise to build a wall at the border.

“You can build all the walls you want. She’s going to build bridges, not walls. We need to stop demonizing Muslims who hate terrorism, love freedom and are the people of the future,” Clinton said, “We need to get the world away from these crazy divided politics.”

Clinton told the crowd he loves our country and would never put it at risk, asking them to vote for his wife. “There is nobody in America, man or woman, as well qualified to be president at this moment when we got these challenges at home and abroad,” the former president said.
