Alleged Bricktown Gang member arrested in El Paso, awaiting extradition to New York
Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Daquan Lee, 23, of Syracuse, New York, Friday morning.
According to police, Lee was being sought by the New York Department of Corrections for violating his parole and by the Syracuse Police Department for a shooting in February.
Lee is a confirmed Bricktown gang member based out of Syracuse, according to police. His mugshot was not provided by police.
In October 2010, a jury convicted Lee of Criminal Possession of a Firearm and sentenced him to three-and-a-half years in prison.
On February 8, 2016, Lee allegedly violated the conditions of his parole and a warrant was issued for his arrest after he was allegedly involved in a shooting. “Lee recklessly discharged a .9mm handgun, striking a woman in the leg,” according to police.
Soon after the shooting, investigators learned Lee fled Syracuse and traveled to El Paso to stay with relatives.
Police conducting surveillance in the 3400 block of Wickham in Northeast El Paso observed Lee exit the residence. Task force members approached Lee, identified themselves, and took him into custody.
Lee initially provided a false name to task force members, but eventually provided his true identity.
Lee was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility pending his extradition to Syracuse.
