Bernie Sargent talks about El Paso’s lawless past

the legendary lawman who took a stand against it – are featured in a program produced for a national cable channel. the program is “american lawmen dallas stoudenmire,” that tells the story of dallas stoudenmire, who came to el paso in 1881 as the town’s sixth marshall in eight months. it’s an episode of the “america lawmen” series on the america heroes channel. featuring a re-enactment of the famous el paso shootout, “four dead i five seconds,” which solidified stoudenmire’s status as a tough mawlan. the program includes interviews with el pasoans jackson polk, bernie sargent and jaime portillo. and joing us now is: bernie sargent, el paso county historical commission chairman, the free screening is 2 p.m. saturday, june 4 at the international museum of art, 1211 montana.
