Albuquerque murder suspect arrested in Las Cruces

State police officers arrested a man suspected of murder in Albuquerque near the I-25/I-10 junction in Las Cruces.

Carlos Perez, 30, will be booked on an open count of murder in the death of 26-year-old Vanessa Delgado. He’s in custody in Las Cruces.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, police in Albuquerque found Delgado’s body inside a mobile home at 11100 Gibson SE.

The officers were performing a welfare check after a caller said she believed the woman who lived in the residence had been injured or killed.

During the investigation, the victim’s relatives told police four missing children were possibly with the murder suspect.

Police in Las Cruces located the four children unharmed after arresting Perez.

Perez and Delgado were in a romantic relationship and that Perez is the father of three of the children, police said.
