Elderly couple atttacked, suspect on the loose

Police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted an elderly couple Thursday morning at a bus stop in Central El Paso.

The suspect approached the 85-year-old man and the man’s 75-year-old wife, and allegedly tried to rob the couple at knifepoint, police said.

The offender allegedly assaulted the elderly man, who resisted. The wife tried to intervene and the suspect allegedly assaulted her too.

According to police, the man suffered scrapes and injuries to his arms. The woman suffered injuries to her face and to the back of her head. Both were taken to Las Palmas hospital.

Police described the suspect as an hispanic man, approximately 30 years of age, about 5’8″, medium build, with short black hair. The suspect’s face masked with a red bandanna.

He was last seen wearing a beige or tan colored shirt and beige or tan colored pants.
