LCPS holding another public hearing to discuss 2016-2017 school year budget

Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) is giving the public another opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions about the 2016-2017 budget.

The Board of Public Education is holding a public budget hearing Thursday at 6 p.m. The hearing will be part of a special meeting in the LCPS Administration Building located at 505 S. Main Street.

According to Terry Dean, LCPS chief operating officer, the budget is currently under review by the state Public Education Department (PED). The budget totals approximately $338.4 million, including $187.2 million in state funding.
