‘My Brother’s Place’ shutting its doors in Las Cruces
After more than 40 years in business, Las Cruces staple,”My Brother’s Place”is closing its doors.
The barand restaurant sits on the corner of Amador and Main Street and hasserved customersfor 44 years.
The restaurant’slast day of business is Saturday, June 11th. The owner is retiring and has no plans to reopen at another location.
“I can see the future of the Amador Hotel and this corner with the visitor’s center. I think it’s going to be really good for the city,” John Gutierrez, owner of My Brother’s Place, said.
The restaurrant will be torn down to make way forthe construction of aLas Cruces Convention & Visitor’s Bureau office and other businesses.
“This was a property that was looked at like kind of a keystone, an entryway into downtown and so there’s been a lot of engagement and comment on this and it’s a really exciting project,” David Weir, with the City of Las Cruces, said.
