Traveling art exhibit spreads awareness about violence against women

A world-wide traveling art exhibit, “Zapatos Rojos,” stopped in El Paso to raise awareness about violence.

Organizers and artists painted more than 250 pairs of shoes red, which have been collected throughout the Ciudad Juarez and El Paso area.

Each pair of shoes represents a victim of gender violence and the color red represents the blood, violence and suffering of missing women.
