Man blamed for mother-in-law’s shooting death gets four months in jail
A man originally charged with Murder for allegedly shooting and killing his mother-in-law has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury, according to Claudia Duran with the district attorney’s office.
Armando Munoz was sentenced to 10 years probation and 120 days in jail.
On October 5, 2013, Munoz and his wife got into a fight inside their Northeast El Paso home on the 3300 block of Sirius.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by ABC-7, the victim, Bobbi Hackney, was trying to break up the fight.
The document states Munoz got a gun from his bedroom and shot Hackney after the woman and her daughter tried taking the gun away.
