UPDATE: Speed and alcohol a factor in early morning collision

Police have now confirmed that speed and alcohol were factors in an early morning collision near the 1300 block of Zaragoza.

The crash happened around 2:30 Saturday morning.

According to police, A 2007 Kia Optima driven by Stephanie Bueno was traveling South on Zaragoza at a high rate of speed.

The Kia approached a curve in the road and was unable to maneuver the curve causing the Kia to leave the roadway and strike several poles and parked vehicles.

Three other passengers were in the vehicle at the time. All three were ejected from the vehicle.

25-year old Stephanie Bueno and 28-year old Manuel Flores sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Del Sol Medical Center for treatment.

27-year old Kenneth Duran was also transported to Del Sol Medical Center with serious injuries.

The rear passenger, 24-year old Jessica Olvera, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Alcohol and speed are contributing factors in this collision no charges have been filed at this time.
