ABC-7 Listens 06.19.16
parting is such sweet sorrow … and we had to part with two mainstays on abc-7 at four. maria garcia spent more than a decade at abc-7 … starting off as an intern … before eventually becoming the anchor of abc-7 at four and abc-7 xtra. but now she’s off to new york to pursue a masters degree in journalism at columbia university. she received a lot of well wishes on her facebook page. from yvonne … “best of luck maria on your new adventure. have enjoyed watching you all these years.” and melissa … “you will be greatly missed! yo have this beautiful light that surrounds you! “may go bless and guide you in your new journey.” edward add … “my favorite newscaster/reporter. it felt like i was having a conversation with a friend when she did the news. “sad t see you go but happy you’re on your way to the next stage. good luck. maria’s day off fell on friday … so she could anchor sunday night’s abc-7 xtra. so, reporter ashlie rodriguez stepped in … and filled in admirably on fridays. from ernest … “jus watched the 4-5 news and want to share that my wife and i are very impressed with anchor ashlie. “very articulate, astute, self-confident, and mature in treating the news as a more serious subject.” unfortunately, ashlie is also moving on. she will now be a weekend anchor at k-u-s-i in san diego … where she grew up. so, who’s moving in to take over abc-7 at four and abc-7 xtra? it’s a talented and familiar face! stephanie gaudian. and her fans on facebook are happy to have her back. from roger … “great to hear we’ll be looking forward to seeing you. good luck, you got this!” enrique adds … “outstanding so glad to see you back!!” and georg wrote … “congratulations on your ne position as an anchor. glad you’re back and good luck.” so, while we sadly say goodbye to maria and ashlie … we are excited to have stephanie on board. there are a few more changes taking place here at abc-7. we’ll talk about them next week. rick cabrera. abc-7 listens.
