Chihuahuas beat Salt Lake 4-2 Wednesday behind Renfroe homer
EL PASO, Texas – Daniel McCutchen pitched seven innings in the El Paso Chihuahuas’ 4-2 win over the Salt Lake BeesWednesdaynight at Southwest University Park. McCutchen allowed two earned runs and has now surrendered only six earned runs in his last 38 innings.
The Chihuahuas trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the third when they tied the game on Casey McElroy’s two-out RBI double. The next batter, Hunter Renfroe, hit a two-run home run. It was Renfroe’s second homer in as many nights and his 17 th of the season, tying Reno’s Peter O’Brien for the most in the Pacific Coast League.
Austin Hedges also went deepWednesday, hitting a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 4-2. It was Hedges’ third home run in his last four games, fourth in his last six games and third in his last three home games.
The Chihuahuas moved to 27-11 all-time against the Bees.
