Chihuahuas beat Salt Lake 9-3 Friday night at home
EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Salt Lake Bees 9-3Fridayand have now won or split seven of their last eight series. Michael Kelly got his second win in as many starts and has allowed only three runs in the first 11.2 innings of his Triple-A career.
Austin Hedges went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, his sixth homer in his last eight games. Hedges homered in all four games of the homestand and in the process joined Cody Decker and Hunter Renfroe as Chihuahuas to hit home runs in four consecutive games.
Manuel Margot went 2-for-5 with a triple and now has seven triples to tie teammate Carlos Asuaje for the Pacific Coast League lead. For the second time in the four-game series, the Chihuahuas hit three balls over the fence, as Jabari Blash and Taylor Lindsey also went deepFriday. Lindsey had two hits in his first Triple-A game of the season.
The Chihuahuas are 6-2 versus the Bees in 2016 and 28-12 against Salt Lake all-time.
