Chihuahuas crush Reno 9-2 Friday behind two homers from Hedges
EL PASO, Texas – Austin Hedges hit two home runs and drove in six runs in the El Paso Chihuahuas’ 9-2 win over the Reno AcesFridaynight. Hedges has hit nine home runs in his last nine games and has two multi-homer performances in his last three games played. Between Hedges and Hector Sanchez, the Chihuahuas have had an individual player pop two home runs in four of their last five contests.
After a three-run third and a five-run fourth, Hunter Renfroe hit an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to put the Chihuahuas comfortably ahead 9-0. Reno plated two in the seventh and neither side scored in the eighth or ninth innings.
The Chihuahuas have won eight of their last eleven games and five of their last six home games. El Paso is 15 games over .500 for the first time in team history and has the best record in the 16-team Pacific Coast League. The Chihuahuas are 27-15 at Southwest University Park, the best home record in Triple-A Baseball.
