Police identify motorcyclist killed early Monday morning
Police said Tuesday Frederick Rodriguez, 59, was the motorcyclist killed in a motorcycle crash at the Spur 601 and Loop 375 diverging diamond intersection.
Rodriguez crashed the 2008 Harley Davidson he was riding at about 2:20 a.m. Monday.
According to traffic investigators, Rodriguez was heading east on Spur 601 when he failed to negotiate a curve as he approached the intersection. Rodriguez reportedly struck the curb and was thrown off the motorcycle when it slammed into a traffic pole.
Police said Rodriguez, believed to be speeding, died at the scene of the crash.
This is the 36th traffic fatality in El Paso this year compared to 27 at this same time last year.
