Chihuahuas Enter All-Star Break After 11-2 Win Sunday

Austin Hedges set the Chihuahuas’ single-game RBI record in El Paso’s 11-2 win over the Salt Lake Bees Sunday afternoon. Hedges went 3-for-5 with two home runs and eight runs batted in, surpassing Jake Goebbert’s seven-RBI game fromJune 12, 2014 to set a club record. All eight of Hedges’ RBIs came in the first three innings.

Nineteen-year-old Luis Urias reached base six times for El Paso, going 2-for-2 with his first Triple-A home run, three walks and a hit by pitch. The Chihuahuas also had a solo home run from Alexi Amarista, his first in an El Paso uniform. Jabari Blash went 3-for-4 with a walk in the win.

Michael Kelly, Frank Garces, Michael Dimock and Leonel Campos all had scoreless pitching appearances for El PasoSunday.

After dropping the first two games in Salt Lake, the Chihuahuas beat the Bees by a combined score of 23-3 in the second half of the four-game series. The Chihuahuas won four of seven on the road trip and enter the Pacific Coast League all-star break in first place by 6.5 games over second place Las Vegas.
