Hundreds attend Black Student Union’s candlelight vigil
Hundreds of people gathered at San Jacinto Plaza Sunday night to attend a candlelight vigil.
The University of Texas El Paso’s Black Student Union hosted the vigil. A spokeswoman from the group said the vigil was an opportunity for members of the El Paso community to come together to promote healing for the families torn apart by last week’s senseless violence.
BSU members spoke during the vigil, some saying that they stand together with the black community for equality.
