Dozens participate in moment of silence for fallen Dallas officers

Dozens of Las Crucens gathered Wednesday to honor the 5 Dallas police officers killed last week.

The event started at 12 p.m. at Albert Johnson Park near Las Cruces City Hall. A moment of silence was held to remember the fallen officers.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to show support for our Las Cruces law enforcement,” said Carolyn Standridge.

The event was organized by Donna Richmond, whose father Thomas Richmond was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Las Cruces in the 80’s. Wednesday marks the anniversary of his death.
