paso … all thanks to a 3-year investigation of a local gang. that’s what the u-s attorneys office and f-b-i said during a conference today. abc7s jerry najera was there. he joins us live with details now from the federal courthouse downtown. rick estela… the gang law enforcement officials having been tracking is called the surenos gang… today two alleged members of the gang, carlos dorado and melissa alonso, were indicted on suspcion of conspiracy to posses a controlled substance with an intent to distribute. law enforcement officials say 23 other members of the gang have been indicted as well. fbi special agent in charge douglas linquest says they arrested 4 “shot callers” or leaders of t surenos gang in order to disrupt the business. during the investigation the fbi says the gang was also buying and selling weapons. “since 2013 fbi el paso pd an dea with the other law enforcement officers who are here purchased guns and drugs on 33 separate occasions in the el paso area of those 33 occasions 27 times we’ve purchased methamphetamines” one person in this investigation remains on the run and is considered a fugutive. the fbi says they’ve seen an increase in methamphetamine seizures in the area. it’s a grim day for many at new mexico state university the announcement that programs are
