Man accused of sexually assaulting girl allegedly had nude children’s dolls
Police arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
Police arrested Toby A. Strebe July 13, 2016. Strebe is charged with one second-degree felony count of criminal sexual contact with a minor, and one first-degree felony count of kidnapping.
On May 28, 2016, Las Cruces Police were informed the victim told to her mother Strebe allegedly forced her to touch him sexually while in his bedroom.
Detectives learned Strebe also exposed himself to the young girl, making her touch him inappropriately. Strebe knew the victims mother.
Upon searching Strebe’s apartment on the 2400 block of east Idaho Avenue, detectives found nude children’s dolls, along with evidence that he purchased more dolls that were not accounted for.
Police are now searching for any other children that may have received one of these dolls as a gift from Strebe, or that could have potentially been in contact with him. Anyone with such information is asked to call police at (575) 526-0795.
Strebe has since been released on bond from the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
