Westside drivers brace themselves for I-10 traffic closures
are bracing themselves. txdot will be shutting off a portion of the freeway for 26- hours. this sunday i-10 east between sunland park and executive will be completely closed. and 2 lanes on i-10 west will be closed off as well. this is the detour drivers will take. tx-dot says its for the demolition of the paisano bridge. abc-7’s jerry najera has been talking to drivers and residents in the area all day he brings us the story: evan josie everytime i brought up the closure today people would sigh ..they would pout..i heard a couple not agains they say they are tired of these closures beginning sunday at 3 a.m. i-10 east between the sunland park overpass and the executive over pass will be completely closed. at the same time two left lanes on i-10 west between executive center and the sunland park exit will be closed. txdot will reopen the lanes monday morning at 5 a.m. txdot will be detouring the traffic through mesa and drivers are already preparing to avoid the traffic mess altogether “im going t stay home and i’m not getting out because right now mesa going to my house and hour an hour and a half if i’m coming from downtown” for some it’s a inconvienience that affects their jobs “that’s not going to be very exciting because i actually have to work and i work over here so it’s going to delay everything.” an with all the traffic exiting sunland park many who live in the area say it’s become a problem. “it gets really bad” “you start seeing a long of semi’s a lot of vehicles you typical wouldn’t next sunday at the same i-10 west will be closed between the sunland park exit ramp and the sunland park entrance ramp. jerry, thank you. and while crews are preparing to demolish the paisano
