borderland overnight after a storm hit parts of the city . this is video our photographer shot in west el paso — the rain came down pretty steadily on mesa for part of the night. the heavy rains caused power outages throughout parts of the city that el paso electric is still working to restore this morning. we’ll let you know if the rain will be sticking around today but first– a very good shifting high pressure ridge aloft allow for minor cooling across the borderland beginning tuesday. monsoon moisture is still pretty limited over the region today, so again today only scattered mountain storms and isolated lowland storms this afternoon and evening. tuesday onward the upper ridge shifts northwest to allow increasing moisture and decreasing temperatures. this will mean an increase in rain and storm chances for all areas. the best days for we have reports of another shooting at a florida nightclub. this happened at ‘club blu’ in fort meyers. according to authorities… two people were killed. there are reports of as many as 17 people wounded. the associated press reporting that police are questioning three people — and that they are searching for others who may have been involved. the incident is believed to have taken place during a ‘teen night’ with some of people at the event as young as 13. demolition of the paisano bridge over i-10 in west el paso didn’t happen overnight. construction crews on site tell us there was a change of plans and it will be torn down at a later date. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live with the latest … denise? the freeway closed for more than 24 hours. we got to see first hand the furstrations of drivers. it was an even worse sunday for this couple who had just been hit by a semi truck– they were ok– but their car got most of the damage. they say the driver of the truck pushed them out of the lane as hundreds of drivers also tried to get off i-10 to take the only detour– mesa. traffic on mesa was down to a crawl– with drivers inching their way to their destinations. today– the couple whose car was hit will be dealing with the cost of repairs. “we got his license plate numbe but we’re trying to get the company’s name” the same area will be closed for the next four nights. i- 10 west between the sunland park exit ramp and the sunland park entrance ramp. and i-10 east between the sunland park overpass
