SWAT suspect on the loose, armed with with “long arm,” police say

Police are looking for the man blamed for a SWAT situation in Central Monday afternoon.

The suspect is believed to be armed with a “long arm” but is not considered a threat to the community, a police spokesman said. Police did not specify whether the weapon is a rifle or a shotgun.

The El Paso Police Department’s SWAT team responded to the 1500 block of Magruder to assist Central Patrol officers with a family disturbance.

Police met with a woman allegedly assaulted inside an apartment unit near Magruder and Timberwolf. The suspect was not found.
