The El Paso Fire Department spent Monday night rescuing a hiker who got lost in the Franklin Mountains, said EPFD.
Around 9 p.m. Monday, the Fire Department said a 22-year-old got lost at Mammoth Rock with very little phone battery power.
With the assistance of 911 communication staff, the hiker was able to get his coordinates on his phone GPS, then relay them to a ComSAR team.
Around 9:30 p.m., a second rescue team was deployed. The Fire Department said the hiker was unable to come down by himself.
It added that the trail is especially dangerous for rescuers due to rain.
