Fire crews respond to fire at Westside apartment complex

Firefighters extinguished a fire at an apartment complex on the Westside.

It happened just after 10:30 p.m. at the Villa Camille Apartments, which is near Coronado High School.

A spokesman for the fire department says the fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to a bottom floor apartment. The fire was contained to 80 percent of the individual building.

It took a crew of 11 units a little more than half an hour to put out the fire.

Fire officials say there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
