Las Cruces man killed in deadly rollover on US 70
The man killed in a single-vehicle rollover early Thursday afternoon off US 70 has been identified.
New Mexico State Police said Jamie Mancha, 35, of Las Cruces, died at the scene. It happened about nine miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico, near Weisner road.
State police said Mancha’s vehicle hit a guard rail on US 70, causing it to rollover. The vehicle rolled down the embankment onto the frontage road.
It is not known if the crash was weather related.
The director of the ABC-7 New Mexico Mobile Newsroom saw the body of one person being placed into a van — not an ambulance.
Officials with the New Mexico Department of Transportation ask motorists to reduce speed, obey posted signs, watch for emergency personnel, and use extreme caution.
