1 worker killed, 1 hurt in Corpus Christi gun store robbery

Corpus Christi police say one gun store employee was killed and another wounded during a robbery in which some weapons were stolen but later recovered.

Senior Officer Travis Pace says no one has been arrested following Thursday night’s holdup at Shooters Depot shortly after the store closed for the night.

A police statement Friday says a vehicle belonging to one of the victims was stolen and later found abandoned. Some of the stolen guns were in the vehicle.

The incident began when police responded to a call about two workers shot at the store, shortly after closing. Investigators didn’t immediately say who called for help.

Police say a 63-year-old man died at a Corpus Christi hospital. A 38-year-old man was hospitalized Friday in serious condition. Their names weren’t immediately released.
