Chihuahuas fall 4-2 to Albuquerque in regular season finale

EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Chihuahuas lost 4-2 to the Albuquerque IsotopesMonday, the final game of the regular season. Albuquerque won all four games of the series at Southwest University Park, completing the first sweep by a visiting team in El Paso this year.

Carlos Asuaje went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, his ninth homer of the season. El Paso starting pitcher Carlos Pimentel lasted eight innings, his longest start of the season. Hunter Renfroe had two hits and Austin Hedges had three in their final games of the regular season.

The Chihuahuas dropped to 1-2 all-time in regular season finales. The Chihuahuas finished the 2016 regular season in first place, two games ahead of second place Albuquerque, with Las Vegas finishing third and Salt Lake fourth.

We will distribute a list of 2016 Chihuahuas league leaders once all other PCLteams have completed their last games.
