El Paso Police and FBI continue to search for bank robbery suspect
The El Paso Police and FBI continue to search for a robber who hit a West El Paso bank late Friday afternoon.
An El Paso Police Department spokesman says officers and FBI agents responded to the United Bank on Mesa Hills, right behind the Applebee’s, around 5 p.m.
Police released photos of the man who they say robbed the bank. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark head covering, masked his face with a black bandanna with white markings and wore a long-sleeve pullover with the U.S. Flag over the letters U.S.A. on the right breast side, and the polo logo over the left. Police also say he was wearing dark gym pants with three white vertical stripes on the side, and wore grey-colored gloves.
ABC-7 video shows both officers and agents swarming the area on foot, in cars and even in a helicopter.
Police say the man approached a bank teller, demanded money , reached over the counter and left with an undisclosed amount of money. Police say they do not know if the man was armed because he did not display a weapon.
The FBI and El Paso Police department are conducting a joint investigation.
