Chihuahuas fall 4-2 in game three of PCL Championship Series

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Chihuahuas held a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning but were unable to close out the PCL Championship Series after the Dodgers rallied to force a game four by a final of 4-2.

The Chihuahuas now need to win one of their next two games to win the series. Both games are at Oklahoma City, a place the Chihuahuas have not won this season, dropping all five contests so far.

The Chihuahuas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a Patrick Kivlehan solo home run in the second inning.

But the Dodgers rallied, tallying three runs in the seventh. Will Venable got the scoring started with a shot up the middle of the infield that second baseman Carlos Asuaje nearly tracked down. The ball ended up going off his glove. Two runs scored to give OKC a 3-2 lead.

The Dodgers then added an insurance run courtesy of Jack Murphy base hit to extend the lead to 4-2.

The Chihuahuas only totaled five hits on the evening.

Game four is Saturday at Oklahoma City at 6:05 pm MT.
