Police charge two with murder after SWAT team raids home

Detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit charged two men with the murder of Anthony Trejo, 33, a man reported missing.

The investigation led detectives to the residence at 8912 Ortega Court in El Paso’s Lower Valley. The SWAT team assisted CAP in executing the search warrant Monday afternoon, police said.

Two men, 33-year old Roberto Favela and 41-year old Romuldo Trujillo, were taken into custody on unrelated criminal warrants.

Police said a forensic investigation by the crime scene unit yielded evidence that led to both Favela and Trujillo being charged with murder. The men were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under $2-million bonds.

Favela was also booked on a warrant for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, police said.

Trujillo was also booked on a warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

The men’s mug shots will not be released until a later time.
