New marshall appointed for town of Mesilla

The town of Mesilla has a newly appointed marshal.

Kevin K.C. Alberg was appointed by the board of trustees Tuesday.

He will be taking the spot of former marshal Christopher Mangusing. Mangusing resigned after over 2 years of service due to health problems.

Alberg will make $53,000 a year.

He is currently working for the New Mexico Corrections Department and is based in Albuquerque, although he lives in southern New Mexico.

Alberg will oversee six deputies for the town of Mesilla. He was chosen from nine other applicants.
