Las Cruces teacher accused of sexually assaulting student

New Mexico State University Police confirm the arrest of 30-year-old David Scroggs, a teacher at Arrowhead Early College High School.

Scroggs was charged with Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor.

The teacher allegedly had a three-month relationship with a student at the high school and the sexual activity happened on school grounds, police said.

Scroggs was jailed on a $50,000 bond.
