‘Defend Your Drains’ this holiday season

Many of us will be spending a lot of time in the kitchen this week, preparing for Thanksgiving Day. After all the cooking is done, El Paso Water is reminding the community to help prevent sewer backups this holiday season. The ‘Defend Your Drains’ campaign urges the public to keep some things mind as you discard fats, oils and grases. Make sure they are wiped off and not rinsed into the sink, keep them in plastic containers and throw in the trash. If you are a guest at a family member of friend’s home, be aware of what is flushed down the toilet. No wet wips, Q-tips, cotton balls or dental floss.
